IBM shares edged 0.8% higher after revealing an undisclosed investment in Anima, a Tel Aviv-based AI startup specializing in design-to-code automation. The MOVE signals Big Blue's continued pivot toward enterprise AI tools that promise to compress software development cycles.

Anima's platform—already adopted by Amazon, Apple, and Samsung—converts Figma designs into production-ready front-end code, claiming to halve project timelines. The Y Combinator-backed firm represents a growing niche of AI solutions targeting the $50B+ enterprise workflow optimization market.

While the market reaction was muted, analysts note the investment aligns with IBM's focus on vertical AI integration. "This isn't about chatbots," says Morningstar's tech equity analyst. "It's arming developers with specialized co-pilots for tangible productivity gains."
